Persia

Persia, formerly known as Iran, refers to a series of states that developed from the territory of present-day Iran. The Persian Empire played a major role in history, with a political and cultural center in the region of Pārs or Fārs. Although the empire disintegrated, the Persian spirit survived through the centuries, and Persian culture was adopted by conquerors, notably the Mongols. In short, Persia is a region rich in history, having seen great empires since the 3rd century BC.
